Have you ever wondered what cleaning up your gut would do? I have known for a long time that I had gut issues. I've suffered from acid reflux, IBS, gall stones, and many different ailments through my adult life. I've never had the healthiest diet. I know what to do be healthy, but I always end up back where I started.....fat and unhappy. I tried a liver cleanse diet, but who would know if it was working? I never did and nothing seemed to change.
Then I thought, if I started taking a Probiotic every morning to optimize the health of my digestive system, would I feel any different? My answer is yes. I took the last year or two to do a comparison and here is what I found.....not all probiotics are the same. There is no magic pill.
I couldn't get my mojo back and I was getting desperate. I had almost gained all the weight back I lost on WW and I was terrified of "starting over" even though I was all but there. My issue has always been sugar. Any form of it, but chocolate is my favorite. I come from a long line of candy hoarders. You read that right. I would keep candy in drawers...especially beside my bed....and not tell anyone else in the house I had candy. You know....because it was MINE!
Do you know what sugar does to my body? It causes bloat, gas, and horrible IBS....not for a day but for days. My entire system would be jacked up from tip to tail if I ate candy, but I didn't care. I'd ask my friends what they did for their digestive health. First it was keep GasX on hand. So, I did. And I'll be honest. I'm regular unless I take a GasX and then things are all jacked up. I'm not sure why, but they are. Then it was suggested to try a Probiotic. Well, which one?
I've taken Nerium Pre and Probiotics and I was pleasantly surprised with how they immediately got rid of the bloat in my system. I took it regularly for a few months. I've always been a fan of Nerium. Their EHT is the BEST! I sold it for a while. I'm never scared of an MLM....especially one that works and I believe in, but cost was always a factor. I'm a customer not a pusher....I mean sales person, ambassador, consultant....whatever you want to call it.

Then I decided to try a cheaper, but still well-known probiotic by Nature Made. I picked it up on the vitamin aisle at Walmart. You open it, take two, and store in the refrigerator. Do you know what happens when you keep vitamins in the refrigerator? Nothing. And I mean, nothing. I would forget to take it daily. When I would remember, it was never good enough because they were starting from scratch in my belly. I knew they were lacking something....but mostly it was the fact that I wasn't taking them on a regular basis. Another friend suggested Align. So, off to Costco to buy a big box of Align. Doctor recommended, but I didn't see much happening here either.
Then, my friend, Rhonda, came into work one day raving about these plant-based supplements from some company called Plexus. I'd never heard of Plexus. I'd heard of plenty of places with these drinks that you shake up in a bottle of water and they provide you with all the nutrition you could ever want, but I knew nothing about this one. So I listened to her. Full of excitement for what it had done for her in three months. I like to support my friends businesses when I can, but I'm not always open to these things. So I told her to send me her website and I'd take a look. In all honesty, I wasn't looking to spend money on more supplements. I had almost resigned myself to just being slightly unhealthy forever....till death do us part in my fat jeans.
I checked out the site. I came back to her with questions and things, but what really interested me was the probiotic and detox I have now come to know and love as Triplex. She explained that this wasn't some over night, fancy detox where I'd be stuck at home for 24 hours. It didn't take me 24 or 48 hours to build up these toxins and it surely wouldn't take a weekend to clean it up. It would take no less than three months. Hmm....three months. I can do anything for three months. I'm miserable. What do I have to lose? I left town for a week at Disney over the July 4th holiday. It was hot. Like gates of hell hot. I was fat, sweaty, and wearing tank tops and tight shorts. OoooWeeee....it was purdy. When we returned, I started Keto with Naren. Not even 7 days in and I quit. It was a detox I wasn't ready for....nor was anyone ready for my mood swings.
I argued with myself on what to do next and came to the conclusion that I had wasted plenty of money on other things, so what would happen if this actually worked for me? I was not expecting it to work, but I did want to support my friend. You see, I'm a skeptic. I was skeptical of Rodan and Fields and I was wrong (y'all, that shizz works....if you got skin issues, call and R+F consultant stat). Rhonda explained that I could get my first pack for $99 + a yearly fee of $40 ($39.95) if I signed up as an ambassador. I said that's fine, but I'm not selling it. I just want the cheapest price. You know, because if this doesn't work, I would be out the money of a retail customer.
I was off to the races to get it ordered....and July 12th, I did. And I didn't tell ANYONE. Only Rhonda knew I was taking these supplements. I wanted to see what they would do. Once in my hand, I was diligent in taking it. It's amazing what desperation will do for you. I had to find my rhythm, but eventually, I did. 2 ProBios when I get up--before I have any coffee. A BioCleanse after lunch and another before bed. I felt better after my first month, but it wasn't until September that I felt good enough to try to detox off sugar. With the help of Triplex, I succeeded. On Labor Day, I started Keto and ate that way until we left for the Run Disney race on October 31st.
The most amazing thing happened on our trip. I wasn't craving all the usual junk food. I mean, yes, I ate three buckets of maple popcorn but I also ran a 10K and a Half marathon. Let's make sure we say "ran" because I don't RUN, I run a little and I walk a lot. I didn't need cake and candy but if I did have some, it didn't cause the cravings to come back. And I was scared to death they would come back. I ate what I wanted when I wanted and yet, I was still on track. When I got home, I immediately got back on WW. The one thing I did learn from Keto is that I need potatoes and the occasional roll/bread.
Today, I'm now a proud Plexus Ambassador.....that's how much I believe in this stuff...and I'm down more than 15 pounds (really, almost 20 now) thanks to two months of Keto and a month of WW with a helpful boost from Plexus Triplex. Have you ever thought about getting healthy from the inside out? Would you be willing to give it a try? Let me hear from you. I am happy to talk about it all!

Laurie
