After my last weigh-in, I was heading to Florida for vacation in a week, so I basically took a two week sabbatical from Weight Watchers. I tracked the first week and part of my vacation, but after the foot long beef hot dog slathered with Mac and Cheese, I gave up tracking. I enjoyed myself. I ate Dole Whip and Pizza and a whole package of Girl Scout S'mores Cookies--okay, maybe I shared two or three, but I really ate the whole thing over 4 days. I ate well, some days. My body prefers good food to rich food, so there was a salad showing up to keep me on point. I was craving that salad and my body was happy to have it! I also had a birthday that include a giant piece of cake from The Market in High Point (I love their cake). I hadn't had a real piece of cake in a long time, so it was really good. I also only ate half of the giant slice. Naren was kind enough to split it with me.
Something about once you embrace Weight Watchers and realize how good you feel when you make good choices, it ruins you for making bad choices. They no longer seem to be as good as they once were. I crave pizza. I crave burgers, but I don't crave feeling gross and sick. And that's how I feel when I eat too much pizza or too many Chick-Fil-A #1 combos.
So, at weigh-in this week, I was surprised. Really surprised. I was ONLY UP +0.6 pounds. Not even a whole pound. I had already decided I was going to give myself those two weeks off and then get back to it.
I have basically spent the last two months maintaining, so now it's time to get back to business. Thursday was re-boot day. Back to exercising regularly. Back to making good food choices. And the best thing of all? Spring is right around the corner and that means more fresh food will be available at the Farmer's Market!
I spent Saturday and Sunday grocery shopping and food prepping. If I don't prep for the week, I'm not making good choices. Failure to prepare is preparing to fail. So, I prepared some frozen banana peanut butter discs. These are an awesome snack made with a banana and PB2 powder. I am going to try PB2 Chocolate with them as well. These frozen snacks are 2 points and so yummy! I stopped by my local WW and picked up some of my favorite chocolate snack bars--these help me with my chocolate cravings. I also prepped a fruit salad similar to the one they offer at Chick-fil-A. Sliced strawberries, blueberries, and Mandarin oranges. I will add my apple slices when I prepare it. I think this will be a good swap for my traditional Ritz chips at lunch.
This month, my goal is to lose 5 pounds. I know that's not a lot, but it's a lot to me. I rarely lose that much in a month. I need to get myself out of this maintenance phase...also known as a plateau. I'm ready to shift into round two and get the rest of the weight off. I'd like to hit Lifetime within 12 months f starting, but it will happen when it happens.
What are some of your favorite WW recipes? Do you share them on your social media? On your blog?
