WW Check-In: Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail

My week started out great.  I completed week 3 of my Run Disney Half Marathon training on Saturday morning.  Training is still on the easy side (low mileage) and I've worked hard to build up my stamina.  I got a quick 2 miles in before heading to my Weight Watchers meeting and I always feel better having just exercised.  Next Saturday is a bit different.  I have 5 miles to do and it's the longest run I've had since the half back in April.  I'm excited and nervous about it.

I woke up Saturday morning feeling like the scale hadn't budged even though I was very careful and counted everything this week.  I was still worrying over last Friday when I had a full-on cheat day.  It was good and I clearly needed it.  It took me several days to get back on track, I was determined to get back to normal.  I'm not sure what it is this time on WW about NOT giving up.  I may falter and I may get lazy, but I get right back to it.

As per the usual, I got to the meeting a little late, but didn't have to wait for Tammie to weigh me.  I slipped off my shoes and my jacket and hopped up on the scale.  To my surprise, I am down another 2 pounds.  That makes 16 and I am 1 pound away from be in the next set of 10s.  I'm determined to not have Thanksgiving derail my progress and to go in next Saturday with a maintain or a loss.  Fingers crossed.

I'm sure you've heard the old saying, failing to plan is like planning to fail.  When it comes to eating healthy, especially for me, it's the Golden Rule.  This week's meeting was about planning for Thanksgiving and knowing that you are probably going to move the scale up this week, if only from a little too much sodium.  I like the realistic view of my meeting leaders and the group that has become my WW family.  I'd rather have a tablespoon of everything than deny myself anything.  I plan on getting a run in Thursday morning before coffee and the Macy's Parade watching.  My family has Thanksgiving lunch, so that will give me a chance to also have a long walk after lunch, too, should I feel over-indulged.  I start my WW week on Saturday, so I have made sure up to now, that I am not digging into my extra points so much that I will have plenty for Thursday.  Being off on Friday, it will give me a day to get some extra cardio in at the gym.  So that is my plan. Moderation and exercise.

What's your plan for Thursday?
