Weekend Check List: Black Friday

OH my goodness.  What a day and what a meal.  I think I am still full!  It was so good and so worth it.  I know you can't out-exercise a bad diet, but can you out-exercise a bad day?  I certainly tried by starting my day with a 5K, but that plate sure does look scary.  It was so good, though.

Thoughts for today:

Shopping:
Well, Christmas Shopping is in full swing.  I buy very few gifts.  I prefer homemade gifts from the heart (think fresh sour dough bread and yummy Christmas cookies or my personal favorite, art).  For the kids, it's usually cash, but only if they are old enough.  The younger ones I opt for cute toys.  Cash is always a favorite with the kids so they can buy something they didn't know they wanted.  They love having money.

If you shop on Thanksgiving, you clearly are not alone as I witnessed at the local Target last night. We wandered over to Target for video games and a movie.  A successful trip where all three were cheaper than one video game at the regular price.  We stood in line in the cold for longer than we were in the store.  I was freezing, but the savings made it worth it.

If you shop Black Friday, good for you.  I've done it once with my sisters when the first of all their kids were born.  They've become more savvy and we are all better for not getting out of the house on Black Friday.  That said, Amazon is basically matching all prices everywhere.  My feeling is I'd rather get what I want two days from now on Prime than fight the crowds.  Currently, we are trying to determine if we are going to purchase a new tv today at Costco.  We shall see.

Stocking Suffers:
This holiday season I have already picked up a few of MY favorite things!  These are also thinks I always have on hand.

  • Notepads/Notebooks
  • Lip balm

Target has these fabulous gold and silver notebooks in the Dollar Section at the door.  I picked up one of each (they are $5) and then found more fun lip savers.  Always the favorite, Lip Smackers, in Cheshire Cat and Maleficent.  The real favorite was the EOS Candy Cane.  Oh my, nothing says holiday spirit like minty, kissable lips. #score

Working on:
Commissions.  On target to complete them this weekend.  I have a busy December shaping up and I want all my work out of the way and delivered.

Excited about:
Small Business Saturday.  I have not one, but two small businesses.  One is my art business.  All of my prints in my shop will be $10 on Saturday.  Don't miss out!  Shop HERE

Second, is my Rodan and Fields business.  You can shop HERE or contact me and I will assist you directly.  I highly recommend the Lash Boost!

Watching:
We started watching Marvel Defenders. For someone who hasn't watched Jessica Jones, Nick Cage, Daredevil, or Iron Fist, I like it a lot.  I do feel like I need to go back and binge the others.  That or just "start from here."  So far, two and half episodes in, I really like it.

  1. I shop almost exclusively online unless I am patronizing small businesses. Happy Black Friday!
