As of late, I have become obsessed with lettering and calligraphy. I've never been a huge fan of my handwriting or my lettering. It's not bad, but it's not fabulous either. I've always been jealous of my friend Adrienne's handwriting. I'm fairly certain she has no idea that I covet her fabulous penmanship, but she has always had the most creative handwriting. Fun and cute. I always loved getting anything from her that was handwritten.
I've been playing around and watching videos on YouTube to better my skills. I really love that you can learn almost anything from a YouTube video. Amanda Lee has a great beginners here on YouTube. I also love this video from How to Hand Letter because it shows you that you can do this with a fancy pen or with a simple, Crayola marker. See it here.
Here are my trial and errors for this week. I LOVE my new gold Sharpie. I got a 4 pack at Office Depot.
Here, I used my brush tip Sharpies (yes, I am aware I have a Sharpie problem. There are far worse things to be addicted to in this world).
Finally, I tried out the cheap version...the Crayola. It wasn't as flexible as I imagined. That or I haven't gotten the hang of the pressure. This is more filling in two lines than a sweeping movement.
I'm looking forward to practicing and seeing what I can make of it. Anyone else ever tried this?
